  • 1 pair of vinyl gloves
  • Rubber bands
  • 1/3 lb. of Soda Ash dye fixer
  • Pre-measured dye in applicator bottles

Directions for Tie Dye:

STEP ONE: Wet garment, fold and tie with rubber bands [Sue Says: Wear gloves and read the Tie Dye Kit's package for some ideas on how to fold the garment. My personal favorite is the accordion fold!]
STEP TWO: Soak in Soda Ash [Sue Says: Soda Ash helps the garment soak up the dye for vibrant colors.]
STEP THREE: Mix dyes with tap water. Dyes are pre-measure in applicator bottles
STEP FOUR: Apply dye. Squeeze onto fabric over a tarp or dye-proof surface
STEP FIVE: Lightly squeeze out excess dye and place into gallon size plastic bag

Direction Post Tie Dye:

STEP ONE: Leave the wet tie-dyed garment undisturbed for 24 hours
STEP TWO: Put on gloves and rinse tied bundles separately under warm, running tap water until the water runs fairly clear. Carefully cut off the rubber bands while rinsing
STEP THREE: Fill your washer with warm water and liquid soap and wash garment immediately
STEP FOUR: Hang or machine dry
STEP FIVE: Once fabric has been thoroughly rinsed and dried you should be able to wash tie-dyed garments with like colors in the laundry
