Melted Bead Suncatcher

  • Translucent pony beads
  • Metal baking pan ((Sue Says: Muffin and cake pans work the best in order to ensure a circular shape of the sun catcher!) )
  • Oven
  • Oven mits
  • Cooling rack
  • Drill
  • String

STEP ONE:Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees

STEP TWO:Place pony beads in a single layer covering the entire bottom of your metal pan

STEP THREE:Bake beads for 25 minutes or until beads are completely melted (Sue Says: If you are worried about the smell of melting plastic in your home, you can also melt the beads in a gas grill, although it may take a little longer to melt.)

STEP FOUR: Let pan and beads cool completely

STEP FIVE: Pop the sun catcher out of the bottom of the pan

STEP SIX:Use a drill to create a hole to hang and thread string through the hole

STEP SIX:Hang the masterpieces in an area where the sun is sure to shine through the hanging piece of art (Sue Says: a porch or sunny bay window is a great place for sun catchers to hang!)
